Jann Halexander CONSOLATIO / CONSOLATION with Iverlene Worrell

Theater L’Île Saint-Louis, Paris, 30/06/2022 (last date)

Consolatio ( consolation in Latin ) : literary genre argumentative who’s aim is to console the afflicted struck by misfortune, most often by the death of a loved one.

The show ‘CONSOLATIO’ (also the title of Jann Halexander’s new album) emerged from the first lockdown. Through his songs, from ‘Stay out of habit’ to ‘The death of the bastard’, Jann Halexander sings the strength and the fragility of bonds such as love, friendship, family, our relation to life. He questions himself as to what we were before and the vision of the world of tomorrow. The French-Gabonese artist poet draws from his repertory of the 19 years of career, including his new songs, taking us into a cabaret style show, between humour and sensuality. The author of ‘It was at Port-Gentil’ started the tour of the show June 12th 2021 in

Paris. Used to a variety of halls, from the ‘Theater Michel’ to the ‘’Café de la Danse, and the ‘Théâtre du Gouvernail’ in passing, he’s begun a new tour, started January 29th in Chartres, which ends this Thursday June 30th at the ‘Theater

l’Île Saint-Louis. Accompanied by the surprising Barbadian poet, Iverlene Worrell, the two artists delivers us a show where French and English mixes as with humour and tenderness, revolt and peace.

If your neighbour’s angry

As well as his dog

And no one can stand you

Even on a Friday at work

Believe me, it could have been worse

You’d fleeing bombs on your village

And hardened rapists

Come on, let’s go have a Pastis

What, life isn’t beautiful?’
